Winning isn't everything. It's the only thing.

During a lull in the cheering at last night's soccer game, one father -- from the other team -- shouted the word lazy at his son's team. While they were winning 4-2. They went on to beat our team 5-2. I wonder if that was good enough?

Oh... and I also overheard one of the mothers suggesting they get parent t-shirts that say, "We yell because we care." The other moms around her giggled and thought it was cute. Slapping the shit out of her was really tempting. Because I care.

The soccer parents I met fell distinctly into two categories, stupid/annoying and mean/scary.

I'd say both categories were covered last night.

I'm gonna come to a game and cheer louder than those parents and then beat them up...because I care.

One of the first Google searches that brought a reader to my blog was "asshole soccer parents." They keep breeding.

I had an idea once about where heckling the Little League teams would result in a $50 fine paid toward the team. I bet we'd a whole lot of "Good try!" and "Way to go!" from parents at those games.

Haha! True, but sadly, I think these kids would catch crap from their parents AFTER the game for not winning/playing to expectation.
