Movie night

After frozen pizzas, the kids and I watched "Master and Commander" on DVD. It was very well-done, but the doctor excepted, I didn't really warm up to any of the characters. Despite being a two-hour film, it didn't feel as if we had time to get to know and love them, even Russell Crowe's character.

Afterward I watched "Love Actually," which, actually, also left me a little... lukewarm. The Colin Firth storyline was sweet and silly and worth a few warm fuzzies, but the rest not so much. Hugh Grant as PM was quite a stretch for the old imagination. And Alan Rickman's character was too grey for a guy who typically plays black or white.

P.S. And this has nothing to do with either film... if you haven't tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, run out right now and get one. Those things are fan-fucking-tabulous!
