• My son's feet are the size of small gunboats. I know this because I had to purchase two pairs of shoes for him this weekend. And let me just add that nothing emphasizes the Ronald McDonaldosity of a pair of feet like Chuck Taylor All Stars.

• You know that Toyota commercial with the little kids who talk about how they're going to be grown up sooner than you know it? The one that suggests that life goes by quickly so you'd better buy a Toyota SUV? I hate it. Hate. It.

• The Temptations... even after 43 years... rock! Caroline and I went to see them Saturday night and had such fun. "My Girl" was a staple of my bedtime repertoire of songs when she was a little girl, so it was very special to go with her and hear the Temps do it live.

• Hummus. mmmmmmmmm!
