Happy Mother's Day!

Caroline never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes its a word she'll say that I never expected her to use. Or a favorite thing that I never expected her to like... like tart blueberries instead of sweet. Today, well, yesterday, we put her at defense again at soccer because we needed her there and she was a total star. She did everything we asked of her. Then, when her game ended, we went over to watch the second half of Scott's game. They'd lost a player at halftime, which left them a player down. I asked Caroline if she wanted to help out the team and she stepped in without hesitation. The coach put her at midfield. There were no breaks. No subs. But Caroline held her own against kids who were up to four years older than her for the entire half. She told me later that the two wins (both teams won) were her Mother's Day gift to me.
