100 Things I Like

1. Music. Usually the only time I'm not listening to music is when I'm sleeping.
2. French onion soup.
3. Dive bars.
4. L'eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake.
5. Guinness, preferably on tap, but bottled will do.
6. In America. It never fails to make me cry.
7. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.
8. Getting tattoos. Yes, it hurts, but in a good way.
9. Monty Python's Flying Circus.
10. eBay.
11. Peanut butter cookies.
12. Egyptian Lotus candles from World Market.
13. Porch swings.
14. Thunderstorms.
15. Johnny Knoxville. Terminally sophomoric? Yep. Should be embarrassed over The Dukes of Hazzard? Absolutely. But I still think he’s hot.
16. Tartan.
17. Hummus.
18. Girls-only weekends.
19. When Doc talks to the snakes about Suzie in "Sweet Thursday".
20. Dog kisses.
21. Spinach and artichoke pizza.
22. Going to the late movie with Caroline dressed in our pajamas so we can go to right to bed when we get home.
23. Skipping stones.
24. Pirates.
25. New England clam chowder.
26. Ska. Real ska. Punk ska. Third wave. I love it all. But I especially love The Slackers.
27. Eat Me Cooking, because I don't have the time or money to make gourmet meals full of exotic ingredients.
28. Punk Rock Domestics, because I don't have the time, money or desire to be Martha Stewart, either.
29. Ipswich Town Football Club.
30. Dancing to reggae.
31. The feeling you get when you’ve got a new book -- store-bought or from the library -- and you can't wait to get started on it.
32. Germany.
33. Getting flowers for no special reason.
34. Displaying my kids' artwork prominently – and not just on the fridge.
35. Looking up the etymology of interesting words.
36. 1964 Impalas.
37. Knowing that -- if you believe in that sort of thing -- Hinckley will reach nirvana in his next life because he has been the best dog ever in this one.
38. Trap shooting. I suck at it, but I like shooting at stuff.
39. Sushi.
40. Hagar the Horrible.
41. Johnny Depp movies.
42. Badminton.
43. People who -- when you have your windows down and the music loud -- throw horns at you in appreciation of your taste in music.
44. Thrift stores.
45. Freezing Kool-Aid into ice pops.
46. Ice cream sandwiches.
47. Bowling. I used to hate it because I suck at it. Then I realized that when you bowl with a bunch of other people who suck, it's fun.
48. Flip-flops.
49. Peanut M&Ms. I eat them in order of colors, from least-favorite to favorite: brown, blue, red, green, yellow, orange.
50. Sleeping between my warm husband and my warm dog on a cold winter night.
51. Looking for license plates from other states while driving cross-country.
52. October.
53. Getting pictures back from the photo developers.
54. Vinyl records.
55. When you buy a product you see on TV that seems too good to be true and find out that it actually works.
56. Sterling silver jewelry.
57. Blueberries.
58. That inside joke that you can reference again and again with those involved and still find a funny as the first time.
59. Pancakes -- or any breakfast food -- for dinner.
60. When the top from the free soda you won wins you another free soda.
61. A certain 10-year-old girl with freckles.
62. Law & Order. Any one of them.
63. Pop Secret Kettle Corn, or the authentic stuff you get at fairs and festivals.
64. Maine.
65. Back-to-school supply shopping.
66. Swearing in German.
67. Snyder’s Honey Mustard and Onion pretzel bits.
68. Postsecret.
69. Rancid, the guys in Rancid, and all their side projects.
70. Cinnamon toast dunked in hot chocolate.
71. Air travel. It doesn’t matter where I'm going – I love to fly.
72. Starting new projects around the house. I'm not so much a finisher, but that's why I have a husband, right?
73. Sailor Jerry flash.
74. Thick chocolate milkshakes.
75. Daffodils.
76. Samurai Jack. My favorite cartoon ever.
77. Playing "slug bug" with old VW Beetles, which is getting harder and harder to play.
78. Blue Bic pens with a medium point.
79. Turning over the next month on a calendar.
80. The Sims.
81. Chicago.
82. Dark burgundy nail polish for my toenails. Apparently I like it so much I have four bottles from four brands of essentially the same shade.
83. Redken 12 Align Ultra-Straight Balm.
84. Franz Marc.
85. Ohio State football.
86. Riding the Tube in London.
87. Cheering when you cross the border into a new state.
88. Lip gloss.
89. Bagging my own groceries.
90. My mom.
91. Chocolate and vanilla twist cones.
92. NOFX.
93. The Lord of the Rings trilogy -- both the books and the movies.
94. People who apologize and say goodbye pleasantly when they've dialed your number in error, as well as people who are friendly when you've accidentally dialed their number.
95. Blank sheets of paper.
96. Getting hugs from my boy, since hugs from teenagers don't come as often as they should.
97. Sunrises.
98. Singing in the shower.
99. Roller coasters.
100. Lake Erie perch.

oh. my. god. we have so many things in common!!! except: i must disagree about peanut M&Ms... i avoid them at all costs and splash out on reeses pieces instead!

but: yay! to daffodils, thrift shops, the london tube, snyders pretzel bits, flip flops, guiness and music!!! me too!!!

You're my evil twin. Or maybe you're the good one. Whatever.

The point is, let's go get tattoos and visit dive bars and dig thunderstorms on porch swings and eat spinach and artichoke pizza!!!

(The only thing that seperates us is LOTR. I'm neutral about the books, which some claim should lose me my Voracious Sci-fi Reader card, but I say, "Fuck you, come try and GET it from me!!!" Dug the movies, though. This will serve to make us different enough that we can tell ourselves apart.)
